Lord...Make a Fist

Good Morning to You My Beloved Brothers and Sisters in the Lord. I have been seeking the Lord as to what I would share this month and the Lord bought to my mind an experience that I had with my Father in which one of the many life lessons that he would teach me took place. I felt it was a good time to share as today is his birthday (March 5) and the Lord, our heavenly father has changed the meaning of the message just for us.

My father wanted to teach me about closing myself up because of fear of hurt, failure and ridicule. So, let’s get that out of the way right off the bat. He came into the house and lay 5 $100.00 bills on the coffee table. He gave me one of them and said, “Make it fit in your hand and protect it so that it is not stolen from you.” I immediately made a fist as tight as I could. I was determined that no one would get that $100.00 bill out of my hand. He said to me that he wanted to give me the other $400.00 dollars but only if I would bless my best friend with 50 of the dollars that I already had in my hand. He knew when he made the request that it was not an issue with me. One of the things that worried both of my parents was my generosity and that I would be taken advantage of. The only contingency to this was that I could not undo the measures that I had put in place to keep the $100.00 bill safe. In other words, I could not open my fist. Then he tried to put the other $400.00 in my hand, but it could not get in. Here in lay the message. “Yes, Baby Doll, you are protected and safe, but let’s look closer. You are the $100.00 bill. No thing or no one can get in to hurt you ever again, however, you also cannot get out to be a blessing to anyone else. Is this really how you want to live?”

So where are you going with this Dr. Lott? There are times in our lives where it seems that everything in the atmosphere that the enemy can use against you is crushing down on you at once. You are reeling as Job must have been on the first chapter of the book bearing his name. Times when you are not able to bring your “A” game and are aiding in your own demise simply because you cannot get a grasp on the season. It is easy to feel that you are alone and vulnerable to the elements of the season, But the bible says in, Isaiah 49:16 Good News Translation “... I can never forget you! I have written your name on the palms of my hands.” John 10:28 goes on to say, “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. He is a good, good Father who will protect us in our times of overwhelming attack of the enemy when we simply utter the Prayer, “Daddy, Make a Fist” A fist through which the enemy cannot breach, and you cannot further fall but can regroup and get back on track. A fist that will hide you and hold you together where the people cannot see what is going on in your season. If that is you in this season, simply ask our Heavenly father, “Lord...Make a Fist”
